Taste and Twirl: Learn the Cha-Cha
June 12 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm$25
Taste and Twirl will begin with a complimentary Nissley wine tasting followed by a one-hour dance lesson, culminating with an open dance session. On June 12th, you and your dance partner will learn the Cha-Cha.
The Cha-Cha is a Latin dance with its origins in Cuba. It is a lively, fun and playful dance that will get your heart pumping and put a smile on your face. The Cha-Cha engages Cuban hip motion and quick steps to match the fast Cha Cha music. Cha-Cha can be danced to many modern Latin and Pop songs such as those performed by Marc Anthony, Santana, Michael Jackson, and Ricky Martin!
Absolutely no dance experience is needed because experienced ballroom dance instructors, Doug and Cindy Rapp, will be guiding you through the basics. No partner? No problem! This is not just a dance lesson but a social event for you to have fun and meet new people.
Doug and Cindy Rapp are the owners and instructors of Iron Bridge Ballroom Basics, a small dance studio conveniently located between Mount Joy and Columbia. After more than 15 years of being actively involved in the dance community, Doug and Cindy opened the studio in their home and began teaching group and private lessons to anyone, couples or singles, interested in learning the “basics” of Ballroom, Latin, and Swing dancing. Doug likes to refer to dancing as “engaging the mind and body in harmony” because of the unique benefits it provides for both physical and mental health.
Tickets are $25 per person which includes a complimentary Nissley wine tasting and dance lesson followed by open dancing to practice what you’ve learned.
Wine by the glass/bottle, beer, and light snacks will be available for purchase. You are welcome to bring your own food. All ages welcome. Must be 21+ to drink.
