Taste & Twirl: Swing
May 31 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm$25
Put on your dancing shoes and dance the night away! Shake up your weekend and join us for Taste and Twirl: Swing on Friday, May 31st from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Anyone aged 21+ is welcome to attend. Absolutely no dance experience is needed because experienced ballroom dance instructors Doug and Cindy Rapp, will be guiding you through the basics. No partner? No problem! This is not just a dance lesson but a social event for you to have fun and meet new people.
East Coast Swing is a fun and energetic dance. It is one of the most versatile dances you will see on the dance floor. While the Swing is historically associated with big band jazz music, it certainly doesn’t limit the music choices today. Today’s East Coast Swing can be danced to any music from Jazz to Rock-N-Roll, Disco and Pop. This is the music you will be entertained with by the bands performing in the Vineyard on Saturday nights throughout the summer.
Tickets are $25 per person which includes a complimentary Nissley wine tasting to start the night off followed by dance lessons and an open dance hour to practice what you’ve learned.
Wine, beer, and light snacks will also be available for purchase.
6:00 PM to 6:30 PM – Complimentary wine tasting
6:30 PM to 7:30 PM – Dance lesson
7:30 PM to 8:30 PM – Open dance
About the Instructors:
Doug and Cindy Rapp are the owners and instructors of Iron Bridge Ballroom Basics, a small dance studio conveniently located between Mount Joy and Columbia. After more than 15 years of being actively involved in the dance community, Doug and Cindy opened the studio in their home and began teaching group and private lessons to anyone, couples or singles, interested in learning the “basics” of Ballroom, Latin, and Swing dancing. Doug likes to refer to dancing as “engaging the mind and body in harmony” because of the unique benefits it provides for both physical and mental health.
