Football season is finally here! While beer and football seem to go hand-in-hand, let’s be honest… not all football fans love beer. If you’re watching and/or hosting game day events, consider these Nissley wine pairing suggestions.
Buffalo Chicken Wings & Vignoles
Vignoles is a semi-sweet white wine similar to Reisling. With hints of tropical fruit–most notably pineapple, it offers a great balance to spicy foods such as buffalo chicken wings.
Pepperoni Pizza & Strawberry Kiss
It’s hard to go wrong when pairing our Strawberry Kiss wine-in-a-can. It’s refreshingly sweet and sparkling–perfect for washing down a savory pepperoni pizza. It also comes in two other great flavors: blueberry and peach!
Cheeseburgers & Naughty Marietta
Naughty Marietta is one of our oldest wines; an original since we opened in 1978! This smooth, medium-bodied semi-dry red wine is extremely versatile and easy to drink. Compliments a well-made burger nicely. If you’re typically a sweet wine drinker looking to expand your palate, it’s worth a taste!
Spinach Dip & Chardonnay Reserve
The buttery and oak flavors of our newly released Chardonnay Reserve pairs deliciously with spinach dip. Our reserve wines go through a different aging process than other wines on our list and only have a limited supply. Get them before they’re gone!
Pigs in a Blanket & Rosé Select
Rosé Select is our driest rosé that was first released in 2017 and has become a Nissley staff favorite. This French-inspired rosé offers bright acidity, medium fruit, and a lasting finish. Surprisingly perfect with pigs in a blanket.
Meatballs & Chambourcin
Chambourcin is hands-down the most popular Nissley wine among our staff. This dry red wine of Lancaster Valley has also gained recognition and awards in numerous wine competitions. Light tannins with hints of pepper and oak, its perfect on its own after a long day in the office or with red meats, including meatballs.
Nachos & Vidal Blanc
Similar to Pinot Grigio, our Vidal Blanc is a dry white wine with light oak flavors and a lively finish. Great with nachos and many cheeses.
Pork BBQ Ribs & Merlot Reserve
How Merlot can you go?! Dry red wine lovers; this one is for you. You’ll appreciate the dark fruit flavors and tannin of our Merlot Reserve with some tender pork BBQ ribs.
